Spending Your Time

February 04, 2007

I have a small theory, which I’d like to share with you today. This insight often motivates me and pushes me toward my destiny of entrepreneurial greatness ;-) I use this idea to analyze my everyday routines with hopes of being able to improve my processes and become better at what I do. Hopefully you will find some use for this idea as well.

The idea is simple:

With every task you do you are either making money OR spending it.

Thats it. This theory generally applies to almost everything, but I’m sure there are bound to be some exceptions to the rule.

Now for some examples:

-Going to work - making money

-Going to the mall - spending money

-Riding a bike - well you’re not making money, so by deductive reasoning you must be spending it. For example, wear and tear on your bike, depreciation of the bike, etc. The only exception would be if you were a professional bike rider and were being paid to ride. The of course you would be making money.

That is all for now. If you think you have found an exception I'd love to hear about it...

What the future has in store

You can expect this site to change fairly regularly (probably a least once per week). I will be using it mostly as a way to centrally house my ideas and as a way to test new and/or exciting projects that I happen to be working on. If you'd like to see something on this site or have any sort of feedback please feel free to contact me.
